​A New Movement

The River City Sting is the second women's tackle football team to make an appearance in Richmond, Virginia. Our mission to empower women reaches beyond field-play. We plan to hold team-based activities and fundraising events, as well as volunteer around Richmond in order to give back to the very community from which we came. We plan to create not only a legacy, but a movement. We’re breaking barriers, one play at a time... 

​Whether you've played for years or never had the pleasure of doing so, we welcome you to strap up your cleats with us. Not only are we passionate about this sport, but we are also passionate about our players-- you can accomplish great things with us!

The River City Sting entered the Women's Tackle Football League for the 2021-2022 Season. We had a championship game appearance for the 2nd year in a row-- although we came in 2nd place, we are still so proud of our team!

The River City Sting's inaugural season in the USWFL in 2021 ended in a flawless victory-- an undefeated 5-0 season with a Championship win! We are so proud of our coaches and players for their teamwork, performance, hard work, and dedication!
